It is a direct sequel, but the chapter-by-chapter cut is not official yet
The official anime website describes Beyond the System as the long-awaited continuation of Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow- in theatrical-film form. A-1 Pictures is returning, and the project was revealed with a teaser visual and a concept video. That settles the important part: this is the next mainline chapter of Jinwoo's anime story.
What has not been confirmed is a statement such as “the movie starts at chapter 111 and ends at chapter 131.” The anime has already shown that it can reorder introductions and compress transitional material, so the safe claim is narrative continuity, not a page-for-page starting point.

Where did Solo Leveling Season 2 stop in the manhwa?
Episode 25 closes the main fallout of the Jeju Island Raid and moves through the transition that the webtoon places at the end of the Recruitment Arc. The adaptation reaches material around chapter 110. By this point, Jinwoo is no longer merely the strange Korean S-Rank who surprises local guilds. After Jeju, his existence becomes an international concern.
That is why chapter 111 works so well as the reading handoff. The story stops asking whether Jinwoo can defeat a high-level threat and starts asking what happens when someone with that much power tries to establish his own position inside the hunter world.
If you only want to continue the plot, start at chapter 111. If you want to compare the adaptation and catch small transitional scenes that may have been shortened or moved, starting around chapters 108–110 is the better choice.
First comes the Ahjin Guild Arc, chapters 111–122
The next complete stretch is the Ahjin Guild Arc, generally listed as webtoon chapters 111 through 122. Jinwoo stops being the hunter every major guild wants to recruit and begins building an organization of his own. Yoo Jinho remains central to that decision, and the new guild still has to exist within Association rules even though its master can effectively do the work of an entire raid team by himself.
This section is more important than it may sound after the spectacle of Jeju. The fun comes from watching the hunter world try to fit Jinwoo into structures that have already become too small for him. Member counts, raid parties, contracts and territory still matter to everyone else; Jinwoo carries an army inside his own shadow.
The arc also brings danger closer to Jinwoo's family and makes long-distance protection matter almost as much as raw dungeon-clearing power. That keeps the post-Jeju story from turning into a simple ladder of bigger and bigger bosses.
Then comes the Double Dungeon Arc, chapters 123–131
This is where the title Beyond the System starts to sound much less accidental. After the Ahjin Guild material, the manhwa enters the Double Dungeon Arc, covering chapters 123–131. Jinwoo returns to the place that started his transformation: the temple, the statues, the deadly commandments and the origin of the System only he can see.
Until then, the System often behaves like a tool: quests, levels, stats, a shop, inventory, penalties and rewards. The return to the Double Dungeon changes the question. Who built this? Why was Jinwoo chosen? How much of his growth was actually his own choice?
For anime-only viewers, that shift is one of the most important developments in Solo Leveling. Mechanics that can initially look like stylish video-game language begin to acquire a deliberate role inside the story. The System is not just a convenient way to make Jinwoo stronger. It belongs to a plan.
Does that mean the movie will adapt chapters 111–131?
It is a strong possibility, but it has not been officially confirmed. The manhwa naturally places the Ahjin Guild Arc between the Season 2 ending and the Double Dungeon material, while the name Beyond the System strongly fits the point where Jinwoo starts moving beyond the System's apparent purpose and confronting what is behind it.
The official reveal, however, only confirms the film as the sequel and provides its title, teaser visual and concept video. There is no detailed official synopsis saying “Ahjin Guild + Double Dungeon,” and no announced runtime that would let us lock down an ending chapter.
A-1 Pictures also has room to restructure the material. A scene from chapter 111 could become the opening; parts of the guild setup could be compressed; a later element could be moved forward as a hook. None of that would mean the adaptation skipped the story outright.
What “Beyond the System” really suggests
The title works on two levels. Jinwoo is becoming powerful enough that the rules which once governed every step of his growth no longer feel like simple limits. More importantly, the story is ready to turn its attention toward the mechanism that made him a Player in the first place.
That direction was seeded as early as the Job Change quest. The System did not offer Jinwoo a completely neutral path. It pushed him toward a death-related class, gave him Shadow Extraction and turned each victory into another step toward something the anime has not fully explained yet.
That is why I do not expect Beyond the System to work merely as “Jeju again, with a stronger enemy.” The best material immediately after Season 2 undermines that idea. The central question shifts from how high Jinwoo can level to why someone needed him to keep leveling in the first place.
If you want to continue now, where should you start?
For viewers who finished Season 2 and simply want to move forward without rereading most adapted material, chapter 111 is the clean starting point:
- Chapters 111–122: Ahjin Guild Arc;
- Chapters 123–131: Double Dungeon Arc;
- Chapter 132 onward: the next major phase begins, beyond what is necessary to understand the likely territory of Beyond the System.
If you would rather enter the movie without knowing its possible central revelations, stop before going too deep into the Double Dungeon Arc. Those chapters contain exactly the kind of answers the movie title appears to be pointing toward.
Season 2 ends by showing the world what Jinwoo has become. The next block of the manhwa begins to explain who wanted him to become that. That is a much stronger bridge into Beyond the System than simply throwing another giant raid at him.
